Terms of Service

Last updated: 17 July 2026. The plain-English rules for using OnlineTuition.mu.

1. About these terms

OnlineTuition.mu is operated by Choolun Education Ltd, a company registered in the Republic of Mauritius ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these Terms. We provide pre-recorded Cambridge (PSAC, NCE, O-Level/SC and A-Level/HSC) lessons, notes and practice — we are not a live or individual tutoring service. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must read and agree to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Your account & one device at a time

Keep your login details private. Your account is for one person on one device at a time. Signing in on a new device automatically signs you out elsewhere. Sharing your login, or using one account for several students, is not allowed and may lead to suspension or a ban. We keep login records (device, approximate location and time) to protect your account, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

3. Subscriptions, plans & payment

Theory, Practical and Past Papers are subscriptions sold per subject and grade on 1, 3, 6 or 12-month plans (a free preview/trial may be offered). Crash courses are one-time purchases. Prices are in Mauritian Rupees and shown before you pay. Auto-renew is OFF by default — nothing is charged automatically. We accept card & MCB Juice, PayPal and manual bank transfer; for manual transfers, access begins once we confirm your payment.

4. Refunds

Because content is delivered digitally, we do not offer refunds once lesson content has been accessed. If you have a billing problem or were charged in error, contact us and we'll make it right. Full details are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

5. Acceptable use & content protection

Lessons, videos, past-paper corrections and documents are protected by copyright and licensed to you for personal study only. You may not download, screen-record, copy, resell, publish or share any content. We use technical protections (including forensic watermarking and, on the app, screen-capture blocking); attempting to bypass them, or distributing our content, will result in immediate termination without refund and may be unlawful.

6. Community, points & profiles

Points, badges and leaderboards are for motivation only and have no cash value. Public student profiles are privacy-first: a student shows only a first name and last initial, never contact details, and there is no messaging — only a 👏 applause. Be respectful; we may remove content or accounts that break these rules.

7. Not affiliated with Cambridge or the MES

We are an independent revision service that helps students prepare for Cambridge (Cambridge Assessment International Education) and Mauritius Examinations Syndicate (MES) assessments. We are NOT affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by or connected to Cambridge Assessment International Education, the University of Cambridge, or the MES. Syllabus, subject, paper and qualification names are used only to describe the exams our lessons help you prepare for. We do not reproduce copyrighted past-paper question text on screen where we are not licensed to do so.

8. No guarantee of results

Our lessons, quizzes and past-paper corrections are study aids to support your learning. Exam results depend on many things, including your own effort and preparation. We do not promise or guarantee any particular grade, mark or outcome.

9. Availability & changes to the service

We work hard to keep the platform available, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may update, add or remove lessons and features over time. The service and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

10. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms — for example login sharing, attempting to copy or redistribute content, or abusive behaviour — where appropriate without a refund. You may stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account (see our Privacy Policy).

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Mauritius, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the subject or course concerned in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Privacy

Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to have it deleted, under the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017.

13. Governing law & updates

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Mauritius, and disputes are subject to the Mauritian courts. We may update these Terms from time to time; we'll post the new version here and, for significant changes, let you know. Continuing to use the platform after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
